A Fire Ignition Model and Its Application for Estimating Loss due to Damage of the Urban Gas Network in an Earthquake

Damage of the urban gas network due to an earthquake can cause much loss including fire-induced loss to infrastructure and loss due to interruption of gas service and repairing or replacing of network elements. In this paper, a new fire ignition model is proposed and applied to a conventional semi-probabilistic model for estimating various losses due to damage of an urban gas network in an eart...

Network Traac Characterization Using Token Bucket Model

| This paper investigated the problem of deriving token bucket parameters from the observed traac patterns of computer network ows in two cases. In the basic case, we identiied the set of token bucket parameters for any given ow so that all the packets in the ow will be delivered immediately without incurring any delay or loss. Then, we extended the basic case by adding a queue to the token buc...

Mathematical model of service quality performance’s computing of multiservice network

This article devoted to effectiveness of multiservice networks’ functioning in order to provide the quality of these networks. Problem of the probability-time characteristics (PTC) of the network’s calculation represents the designers of most interest. Solution of this problem gives you opportunity to: significantly improve network performance, prevent network failures during overload traffic i...

A composable service model for lossy network elements

The development of scalable service models for integrated services networks is crucial for fostering interoperability and competition among multiple network service providers that support quality of service. A key scalability property of a service model is composability, which allows models for network elements in tandem to be lumped together into a composite model which is of the same type as ...

Design of a Reliable Facility Location Model for Health Service Networks

This paper proposes a novel facility location model for health service network design by considering different key elements including the reliability aspects, service capacity, congestion, service quality, surrounding public infrastructures, geographical accessibility and several types of cost such as investment, transportation and operational costs. We formulate the problem as a robust scenari...
